“Popcorn is about violence, how film art can influence human behavior, the injustice of the world, and the huge role of television in the imbecility of man.”

Florin Gabriel Ionescu

A new Oscar winner returns home after the award ceremony, accompanied by a Playboy model. There, a couple of serial killers are waiting for him, as if embodied in the characters of the newly won film. Also appearing are an ex-wife, a daughter and a filmmaker. The criminals want to put all the blame for the crimes they committed on the director’s shoulders, on the grounds that his films inspired them. And here comes the televised debate: the killer promises to spare everyone if viewers turn off their TVs. If not, if the rating goes up, it will kill them all. Everyone’s lives depend on the viewers’ choice.
