This performance that talks about love, madness and death was inspired by the heart breaking and frenzied music of Maramures, of the exceptional artists from Iza Group, who remodeled for me some of the most valuable songs of their repertory, under my friend, Ioan Pop’s leadership.
This performance couldn’t be possible without the choreographer and dancer- Vava Stefanescu’s beautiful and absolutely free, almost sacrificed body, who cast herself into the musical high tides and fluids of Maramures and Oas, as in her own bodily and spiritual mould.
The thought and creation of this performance were constantly joined by three “sayings” by William Blake, which I’d like my “Hot summer on Iza”’s audience, to know :
“Exuberance is beauty” (Exuberanta inseamna frumusete)
“Energy is Eternal Delight”( Energia este o continua incantare)
“Eternity is in love with the productions of time” ( Eternitatea este indragostita de productiile timpului).
